By far one of royal fashion watchers’ favourite ladies to look for at Royal Ascot, Autumn Phillips barely puts a fashion foot wrong. The sister-in-law of Zara Tindall, the two women are often seen together at race events and this Royal Ascot will be no different.
Let’s take a look at our styling picks for the elegantly-dressed Canadian.
We have chosen a very bold coloured, bright orange dress from Roksanda. The Essi Silk Bell Sleeved Crepe Midi Dress is a beautiful modern style that captures elegance and fashion in one. The dress features a red contrast trim low v-neck, long balloon style sleeves that flare out dramatically near `the wrist before being brought back in to a nice contrasting cuff. A fitted waist line creates a feminine style and the pencil skirt is sleek and prevents gusts of wind from elevating an a-line flowing type skirt, which could happen at such an outdoor event.
We choose a beige straw fascinator from Sarah Cant. The percher sits toward the front of the head and is embellished with several tiered burnt orange loops adding drama for Royal Ascot and blending nicely with the dress. We accessorised with a pair of Majorica Simualted Pearl Stud Earrings, for a subtle touch of elegance, as the dress and hat are quite bold and too much jewellery may start to make the ensemble overpowering.
We added in a nude pair of Malone Souliers Leather Marion Pumps 85mm heels. The slingback pump are a very fashion forward statement and a slight twist on the classic court heel favoured by Royal Ladies.
We added an affordable clutch style from Dune. The envelope style Envela clutch in bright orange, matching the dress. We know that Autumn often carries high street clutches mixed with luxe dresses and affordable hats.
This look for Autumn focuses around an orange floral midi dress from Hobbs. This is the ‘Ferrier Floral Midi Dress’, featuring a gorgeous cream and pink floral print on a viscose silk fabric. The v-neck is trimmed with loops of fabric, which mimics the covered buttons down the front, ending at the waistline. The long sleeves gather a little at the cuff, and of course the hem falls to mid-calf.
The pillbox is a very simply piece from Rachel Trevor Morgan, who makes The Queen’s hats. The simplicity of the hat should leave the focus on the dress whilst also adding an elegant, vintage touch that would suit Autumn wonderfully.
We know Autumn is a fan of Emmy, so the look has been paired with the ‘Rebecca’ heel in blush, matched with a ‘Natasha’ clutch. With a 4.5 inch heel and pointed toe, the light colours with tie in with the hat and pick the colours out of the dress, so as to make this even more summery.
Meanwhile, the earrings come from Oliver Bonas, and feature a dark orange stone, from which hangs a yellow halo stone; the hardware is tarnished silver.
