For an evening reception at the Museum of Ireland, The Duchess of Cambridge channelled the 1980s with a vintage ruffle neck dress from Oscar de la Renta.
She chose a new (but vintage) Oscar de la Renta dress. The pink dress has a ruffle neck, trimmed in black, buttons down the front of the placket and a velvet cuff and belt. The hemline falls to the knee. Fashion watchers were divided over this, some thinking it was brave, while others thought it channelled Diana too much, bringing back the worst parts of 1980s fashion! For us, it was overly fussy, but it was good to see Kate in vintage items.

The Duchess carried her black velvet Jimmy Choo ‘Celeste’ bag. An updated version of the bag (different clasp) is available here for £895. Try this or this to match it.
