The Countess of Wessex visited her patronage, the Central School of Ballet today, to open a studio named after her. We unusually got a glimpse behind the scenes of Sophie’s working day via the royal instagram channel, seeing a meeting and a portrait shoot. Therefore we have two outfits today!
The Countess of Wessex wore her Max Mara ‘Reus’ coat in tobacco, making this the third wear in under a month. We suspect Sophie is like us, in that we get a lot of wear out of new pieces straight away, because we love it! This coat is certainly a gorgeous tone and a versatile style, too. It features oversized notched lapels, a trench-style vent on the back, exposed seams and a loose fit; a buckled belt cinches in the waist. Get one here, costing £815, or try cream here.
The Countess chose a new dress from Azzedine Alaia, the ‘Camee abstract-print stretch-knit midi dress’ in ‘noisette’, a rusty-red shade. The dress features a scalloped neckline, 3/4 sleeves and hemline. The fabric – mainly comprised of viscose – is described as an all over abstract print. There is no waistband on this dress; the hem falls past the knees, and it has a concealed zip on the side. Get one here for £2330.
We saw the return of Sophie’s lovely gem and pearl cluster earrings, which we still have not found.
Sophie carried her Sophie Habsburg ‘Cleo’ clutch bag in purple python.
The Countess also had other engagements today, including meetings and a portrait sitting. We usually wouldn’t see anything of these, but a team member followed Sophie today and shared some clips on instagram.
Sophie wore a black cowl neck midi dress from Valentino, which dates back to February 2017. The dress is a wool-silk mix, with a draped cowl-neck, long sleeves, fitted bodice, which flares into an A-line skirt. The piece cost approx £2000 when it was available.
We saw her Dior perspex heels, which are a number of years old now.
She switched out her earrings to what look like gold hoops; they might be the new snake pair she debuted a few weeks ago from Aurelie Bidermann, but the images just aren’t clear enough.
