Today Meghan Markle and Prince Harry meet the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnball and his wife Lucy Turnball for a reception ahead of the Sydney Invictus Games 2018. This was Meghan’s first visit with a Head of State.
Meghan wore a printed green dress from Self-Portrait, retailing for £300. The cold-shoulder lace-trimmed floral-print plissé-crepe dress, has a feminine silhouette and pleated midi-length skirt. The cold-shoulder cut out has black straps and ruffled sleeves. The dress features a deep v at the front and the back and is trimmed with plissé ruffles at the bust and hips and latticed lace inserts. The dress has a black and white floral pattern throughout.
Meghan is no stranger to Self-Portrait having worn this label as an actress and to The Queen’s Christmas lunch last year.
You can purchase Meghan’s dress at numerous retailers including: here, here, here, here, here, here and here. You can also get this dress in a longer length here and in a long sleeve and longer length version here. Get an affordable replicate here and a great option for plus-sizes here.
Meghan re-wore her Alexander McQueen ‘Grain de poudre’ wool blazer retailing for £1,245. A single breasted silk lined blazer, with angular welt flap pockets. This is a tuxedo style blazer with sharp peaked lapels, structured shoulders, diagonal darts across the bust, rear seam detailing and a flap rear vent. We first saw this when she presented an award at the Endeavour Fund Awards in London with Prince Harry.
Meghan also re-wore her Manolo Blahnik ‘BB 105mm Suede Pump’ (Tora Heel) retailing for £471.60. A classic pair of pointed-toe black suede court pumps with a top stitched collar and curved back heel – this is the ‘Tora.’ You can also get the BB in a straight back heel. The heel height on these Manolo’s is 105mm or 4 inches. We are a huge fan of these heels on Meghan, a nice wardrobe staple. You can purchase Meghan’s heels here. You can get Meghan’s look for £49 here and only £25 here (we love these ones!!)
Meghan carried a new bag by Roland Mouret. The ‘Mini Classico’ patent leather cross-body bag, retailing for £445 and was part of the Fall/Winter 2017 Collection. What seems to be a simple black pebbled leather envelope style cross-body bag is actually quite complex in structure. This bag is incredibly unique with the way it folds down and out, in an origami folded envelope façade – see our photos below. The bag has two compartments. Fold the top flap up and open for a larger interior pocket. Under the flap is a small gold zip pocket. The top flap also folds up into a v-shape.
The bag also features an usual gold link shoulder strap, and thin gold hardware bar plaque engraved with ‘Roland Mouret.’ The Mini Classico is made from black yellow karung leather and brass. This bag also came in pink suede and orange suede.
This bag is sold out, however you can get one on consignment with slightly different gold chain strap here.
Meghan debuted a new pair of silver knot post earrings. These are yet to be identified but we will update you will more information when we find out.
This look has divided opinion again on Social Media, with many thinking that it was not appropriate for the event, due to the plunging neckline. However, she did keep her blazer on and did look veru pretty in her ensemble, so it is a tick from us today.
