The Duchess of Cambridge attended the Women’s Final at Wimbledon today. Kate sat in the royal box with her sister-in-law, The Duchess of Sussex and her sister, Pippa Matthews. Catherine returned to an old favourite Dolce & Gabbana dress, first worn on tour to Canada in 2016.
The Duchess wore Dolce and Gabbana ‘Georgette-trimmed crepe midi dress’, that originally retailed for £2,150. The bottle green midi dress features a high round neckline, three-quarter length sleeves with a ruched pleated peaked shoulder detail, a fitted bodice through the waist, and a midi-length skirt with slight fluting flare from the knee to the mid-calf. The dress showcases a thin bow detail at the neckline, a series of large round shiny gold buttons down the centre and a rear zip closure.
The dress has a vintage 1940’s vibe to it, a style that is akin to a number of Kate’s other sartorial choices. The originally dress featured a large embroidered pocket watch design over the right side of the chest. The whimsical design is very reminiscent of Alice and Wonderland, and was modified by the Duchess for her piece. This dress has long since sold out and is no longer available for purchase. You can still view the dress here.
The dress has since been re-released with white buttons and pleated, peaked shoulders.
Kate carried her Dolce and Gabbana ‘Sicily’ tote. The top handle grab-style bag has a trapeze shaped front flap, and is a medium-sized style satchel. In nude leather, it features gold-toned hardware through the handle, feet and engraved plaque. The bag also has an optional shoulder strap. Try this bag to get Kate’s look for less, here.
Kate wore her Rupert Sanderson ‘Malory’ nude kid leather pumps. The light coloured pumps have a rounded toe vamp with an almond shaped toe, a curved side with high arched heel cover and a 4-inch stiletto heel. Try these heels to get the look for less here.
The Duchess accessorised with her Asprey London ‘Oak Leaf Small Hoop Earrings’, retailing for £5,130. The 18ct yellow gold hoops are constructed from a series of very small intertwined oak leafs inlaid with pave diamonds, totalling 1.34ct. These earrings a part of Asprey’s Woodland Collection. You can purchase these earrings here.
The Duchess of Cambridge also wore her Wimbledon patron’s bow, in green and purple.
For those interested, Pippa wore a dress by Anna Mason, the ‘Rufflette’ in blue, costing £735. See it here. (Thanks to @CarolineParr)
