Today marks the NHS’s 72nd birthday, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated it with a tea party at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn. Kate wore a new navy midi dress, while William also dressed in blue – perhaps as a nod to the National Health Service. Read more here.

This is the ‘Shalini’ midi dress from one of the Duchess’ favoured brands, Beulah. It is a shirt dress with a fitted waist and contrasting white collar and cuffs, the latter closed with a single covered button. The navy silk features a ‘micro geo floral’ pattern, of simple daisy-like plants. There are epaulettes at the shoulder, with a self-tie belt to finish the look off.

10% of profits at the label go towards putting an end to modern-day slavery.  Try this to match the look.

The dress has also been worn by Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

I was a little disappointed with this choice, for two reasons: I dislike the balloon sleeve, as I feel it unbalances the dress’ proportions. Secondly, Kate has a very similar piece in her Alessandra Rich dress, last seen at Bletchley Park – navy print dress with contrasting white collar and cuff. What do you think?

This is the first time we have seen Kate’s new Patrick Mavros earrings up close, allowing us a better look at them. They are from the Ocean Tides collection, the milky quartz sea urchin earrings in 18ct gold, with a tiny diamond at the centre. A cabochon quartz stone with gold setting hangs from this.

We previously reported they were the silver version at £800, but they are in fact £2400 due to the gold material. Both are available, here and here.

For footwear, we just got a peak that the Duchess wore navy pointed heels, but that is largely all we have. Catherine owns at least three pairs in this style, from Rupert Sanderson, Prada, and McQueen.

Gabi shared another photo that shows us a better look – we agree they appear to be Rupert Sanderson, with a full, wide toe covering.

It looked like a great event, as lockdown has eased, and is the first joint engagement William and Kate have undertaken together in public since the pandemic intensified in the UK.
